PRIVATE PRACTICE ON ABC - Primary Medical Consultant
Dr. Reef is currently the primary medical consultant on the hit television show “Private Practice”. Dr. Reef advises the writers on overall scenes and dialogue pertaining to the psychiatrist character and dealing with topics ranging from mental health, addiction, therapy and relationship dynamics.
HOUSE OF CLUES ON TRU TV (FNA: COURT TV)
Dr. Reef utilized his forensic experience and psychiatric background to work as both the host and expert of the television show “House of Clues” on Court TV. Working with celebrity guests like Omarosa from the Apprentice and Kato Kalin, Reef showed us the journey of personality profiling. The good doctor reveals how you can take someone’s home and analyze it like a crime scene to assess the personalities and relationships of the owners.
EXTREME MAKEOVER ON ABC - Psychological Expert
Dr. Reef was brought on to “Extreme Makeover” this last season to discuss the internal makeover. Reef says “As we may change our outward appearance, we can’t neglect our internal emotional state.” Reef worked with various makeover recipients on their internal emotions and thoughts; he dealt with such subjects as nicotine addiction, identity, stress, role in the family and self esteem. Reef helped patients to understand and accept themselves internally as well as externally.
TODAY SHOW ON NBC
Dr. Reef has been interviewed as a recurring guest expert on “The Today Show” discussing various topics including: college binge drinking, the partying subculture on college campuses, Ritalin dependence (brought up on “Desperate Housewives”), anxiety and prescription drug abuse.
LOVE LOUNGE ON VH1
Reef was brought in to be a recurring sex and relationship expert on the VH1 show “The Love Lounge”. Reef talked about many aspects of sex including: cyber sex, the neurobiology of sex, sex in the music industry, fantasies, marriage, infidelity, strip clubs and celebrities. Reef was interviewed on the show for twenty different episodes.
